Giant flowers installed across Eastgate Square shopping centre in Chester

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Giant flowers have been installed across Eastgate Square shopping centre in Chester for the summer.

The display, called Eastgate in Bloom, sees oversized suspended flowers running from Eastgate Street through the historic St Michael’s Arcade.

A giant floral shopping bag has been placed on Newgate Row, with a further floral display in The Square, a selfie frame and a decorated tree inside the arcade.

Free bouquets are being handed out to shoppers at the centre, with blooms from Natalyas Home Story, the florist behind the opening of the H beauty store earlier this year.

The installation follows the centre’s 2025 Christmas decorations and the pink hearts display that marked the H beauty opening.

Gary Martin, Director at Martin Property Group, said: “As we continue investing in Eastgate Square, placemaking is a hugely important part of our long-term vision for the centre.

“Installations like this help create a more engaging and memorable environment, encouraging people to spend longer in the city centre and supporting the wider retail and hospitality offer around them.

“Chester is an incredibly characterful city, and we want Eastgate Square to continue contributing positively to that experience through thoughtful investment and design.”

Lisa Rogers, Centre Manager at Eastgate Square, said: “We wanted to create something that felt joyful, welcoming and genuinely beautiful for the city.

“Eastgate in Bloom is about creating an atmosphere that encourages people to slow down, spend time here and enjoy the experience of being in the city centre.

“Whether someone is meeting friends for coffee, shopping for the day or simply passing through, we hope the installation brings a little colour and happiness into their visit.”
