Police respond to reports of a man ‘behaving suspiciously’ in Saltney on Tuesday.

A Police spokesman has confirmed officers responded to reports of a man ‘behaving suspiciously’ around the Sandy Lane, Vyrnwy Road area of Saltney yesterday,Tuesday 26 July. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Numerous police vehicles were seen in the area say local residents along with a police dog and handler at around 4pm. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

Rumour and speculation circulated on social media during the afternoon and evening, Saltney Town Councillor Shelley Streeter shared a post on Facebook warning parents to be vigilant saying “might be worth keeping an eye on your kids” due to reports of the suspicious male, the post also linked to a post by the Broughton Life facebook page which said. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

“Re Police activity in Sandy Lane Saltney today. It has been fully dealt with today. No ongoing concern, an update may be available tomorrow, will keep you posted” ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

A police spokesperson told us there was “Reports of a man in the area behaving suspiciously” police have not said if any offence was committed or arrest made. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
