Police officer injured after stopped car drives off

A police officer was injured last night, Wednesday 19 April after a car he had been stopped drove off.

The officer, who was dealing with a car which had been stopped just after 11pm in Bagillt, sustained a broken elbow as the occupants drove off in the car.

The car stopped a short distance later and a man and a woman, who failed drug swipes, were arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer and drugs and driving offences.

A quantity of drugs was also recovered from the vehicle.

A police spokesman said the injured officer in “good spirits”

Police also said they stopped a car in Holywell last night and recovered a quantity of illegal drugs.
