Police helicopter brought in to help apprehend a wanted man in Connah’s Quay

The Hawarden based police helicopter was brought in to help police apprehend a wanted male in Connah’s Quay this afternoon.

Locals saw the chopper low over Shotton and Connah’s Quay at around 2.45pm.

After an initial circuit of the area, the crew flew back towards their Hawarden airport base only to return five minutes later to conduct a search for a wanted male.

In an update on their twitter account the crew wrote;

14:45 – Connahs Quay. Operational support. 14:50 – Connahs Quay. Suspect search. Male detained by local officers.

In a brief update, a police spokesman told Deeside.com “We were looking for a wanted male who is now in custody.”
