Police arrest truck driver in Mold after failing a roadside drugs test
Officers from North Wales Roads Policing Unit have arrested a tipper truck driver after failing a roadside drugs test.
The driver was stopped in the Mold area earlier today.
In an update from the roads policing @NWPRPU twitter account said;
This vehicle stopped today in
#Mold. Driver arrested for drug driving. A collision would have been horrific.
The arrest comes just a day after police across Wales launched their annual summer drink and drug drive campaign
Police say they are targeting drivers who risk their lives and the lives of others by driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
During last summer’s crackdown North Wales Police carried out 60 roadside drug tests, 36 people tested positive for drugs including Marijuana and Cocaine, officers also carried out 3958 roadside breath tests with 78 people caught over the drink drive limit.
At the launch of the campaign yesterday Susan Storch, chairwoman of Road Safety Wales said;
