Welsh Water says some homes in Flintshire will continue to experience water supply problems overnight following the repair of a major burst main in Broughton.

The company is carefully refilling the water network to avoid any further bursts. Customers served by the Bryn Edwin service reservoir may have no water, intermittent supply, low pressure or discoloured water.

Areas potentially affected include Flint, Holywell, Ffynnongroyw, Greenfield, Llanerch y Mor, Mostyn, Oakenholt, Talacre, Whitford and Mancot.

Welsh Water is supporting the network with extra tankers and plans to refill the system overnight when demand is lower.

A bottled water station remains open at the Jade Jones Pavilion in Flint (CH6 5ER) and deliveries are being prioritised for vulnerable customers on the company’s Priority Services Register.

A spokesperson said: “We will continue to keep customers updated and we apologise to anyone experiencing disruption. Please be assured we are working hard to resolve this significant incident as quickly and safely as possible, so that we can fully restore water supplies by the morning.”
