North Wales Trail Riders Fellowship donate more funds to all-Wales charity
Members of North Wales Trail Riders Fellowship (TRF) once again made a large donation to the Wales Air Ambulance.
Since 2022 the group has raised money for the lifesaving charity each year, from their various trail riding get togethers. This year they raised £2,225 bringing the total raised to an incredible £6,200.
The group wanted to fundraise for the Wales Air Ambulance due to the fact their sport is dangerous and many of them ride road motorbikes. Many members also have friends that have needed the service in the past.
The Wales Air Ambulance Charity needs to raise £11.2 million each year to keep its helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road. Donations and fundraising events are key to the service’s survival.
Members of North Wales TRF had the pleasure of a base visit to Caernarfon Airport where they presented Debra Sima, Wales Air Ambulance’s Regional Fundraising Manager and staff with the most recent cheque.
The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.
It is delivered via a unique Third Sector and Public Sector partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
As a pan-Wales service, the dedicated air ambulance crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
Debra Sima, Regional Fundraising Manager North Wales, said: “A huge thank you to all the organisers and riders who took part in the fundraising events and raised a fantastic £2,225. We are delighted that the North Wales branch of Trail Riders Fellowship has once again continued its support of our lifesaving all-Wales Charity. They have continued to fundraised for us each year, which is incredible and we’re extremely grateful.
“Their continued support will enable us to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road across the country. Thank you so much, your fundraising will help us to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most.”
