A man has been sentenced to 16 weeks in jail following a drink-driving incident that occurred as he left McDonald’s in Broughton.

Ethan Marshall, 31, of Upper Aston Hall Lane, Hawarden, was arrested on Friday, January 24th, after being involved in a collision before driving away from the scene.

Marshall was found to be over twice the legal drink-drive limit and was also driving while disqualified and without insurance.

He was remanded in custody and appeared before Mold Magistrates Court the following day.

The court handed him a 16-week jail sentence and imposed a 51-week driving ban.

In a post on social media, South Flintshire Police commented on the incident, saying: “Not a ‘happy meal’ for him, in the end.”
