Man airlifted from Mostyn Docks after coastguard rescue
An injured casualty was airlifted from Mostyn Docks on Sunday afternoon after coastguard teams decided a helicopter was the safest way to get them off the site.
Flint Coastguard Rescue Team led the response and was joined by the Llandudno team.
Crews treated the casualty at the scene before calling in the coastguard helicopter Rescue 336.
Llandudno Coastguard Rescue Team said in a statement:
“We administered casualty care and determined that the safest way to extract the casualty from the scene would be by helicopter.”
Rescue 336 landed at the docks and the casualty was flown to an ambulance waiting nearby.
The team said it is equipped to deal with a range of medical and trauma incidents and can call on other emergency services when needed.
Mostyn Docks is a working port on the Dee estuary, west of Flint, and sits within the area covered by the Flint coastguard team.
The Coastguard’s standing advice is to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard if anyone is seen in danger or distress anywhere around the coast.
