Liverpool man jailed for robbery of teenage boy in Chester

News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

A man from Liverpool has been jailed after robbing a teenage boy in Chester.

Bradley Forsyth, 22, was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Chester Crown Court on Friday 24 January after pleading guilty to robbery.

The incident took place at around 7.15pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024, when police received reports of a robbery in Blacon, Chester.

The victim was riding his electric bike at The Parade when he was approached by a man wearing a balaclava.

The man threatened to stab the teenager and demanded he hand over the bike before making off with it.

Police launched an investigation and discovered that the stolen bike was fitted with a tracker. This led officers to track its movement, initially to Speke and then to Formby.

Further enquiries identified a white Renault Clio believed to be linked to the robbery. With assistance from Merseyside Police, officers conducted a stop and search on the vehicle on Broom Cross Road in Liverpool.

Inside the car, officers discovered the stolen E-bike and arrested Forsyth on suspicion of robbery.

Following Forsyth’s sentencing, Detective Constable Andrew Manson said: “I welcome the sentence handed to Forsyth and am pleased that he is now behind bars facing the consequences of his actions.

“I hope that the outcome of this case demonstrates to local residents how seriously we treat robbery, and also acts as a warning to others who are intent on committing crime.”
