Flint Town Football Club have announced a new partnership with Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices.

Their new signing aims to improve links with the community, increase access to the benefits of sport, spread the thrill of watching a live match and support local good causes through charitable activities.

Speaking for the club, General Manager, Makhan Singh said: “We want to reach out into the wider community and work on relationships with all sections of society.

“Our teams and training sessions start with kids as young as six and go all the way up to the senior squad – so working with a well-known local children’s charity was a natural choice for us.

“We’ll be looking at opportunities like hosting families who access care at the hospices at our matches, bucket collections and possibly some fundraising activities too.

“Football has become harder to access for many with high ticket prices and waiting lists. We believe in a grass roots approach and want to offer the opportunity to enjoy sport to everyone.”

Hospice fundraiser Nicky Eyes is linking with the club and escorted the Tŷ Gobaith Tiger to the ground for the official launch of the partnership.

Nicky said: “Like us, Flint Town FC are firmly rooted in their community and committed to supporting local people to live their best lives.

“We are proud to support so many families in this area with respite care, nursing, therapeutic activities and family support at both our hospices in Conwy and Oswestry.

“Makhan is setting a great example to young people and other leaders in the community on how collaborative working can benefit both businesses and charities.
“We can’t wait to get started and see where we go together. Thank you so much.”

Flint Town’s Essity stadium sits on the banks of the River Dee next to the famous castle and has views across to the Wirral. They have a popular social club which is open seven days a week.
