Google has marked St David’s Day with a special Doodle celebrating Welsh culture and heritage.

The design, which appears on the search engine’s homepage, features a majestic red dragon – a powerful symbol in Welsh mythology representing strength and resilience.

St David’s Day, or Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant, commemorates the death of Wales’ patron saint in 589 AD. a day is widely celebrated across the country with parades, concerts, and traditional festivities.

Since 2004, Google has created annual Doodles to mark the occasion, making this year’s design the 21st in the series.

The company frequently updates its homepage logo to honour cultural celebrations, historic events, and notable figures worldwide.

St David is remembered for his devout lifestyle and contributions to Christianity in Wales.

According to legend, one of his most famous miracles took place in Llanddewi Brefi, where the ground beneath him is said to have risen to form a hill so that he could be seen by a large crowd.
