Creamfields sees 43 arrests over bank holiday weekend

Cheshire Police have confirmed that 43 people were arrested during the Creamfields music festival in Daresbury.
The arrests came as part of a wider policing operation which supported the event organisers across the bank holiday weekend, from Thursday 21 to Monday 25 August.
A total of 143 crimes were reported over the course of the festival, with drug-related offences the most common. The 43 arrests included those suspected of possessing and supplying illegal substances. Further individuals were either dealt with by community resolution or will face action through the criminal justice process at a later date.
Chief Inspector Jamie Lewis, who led the policing operation, said: “As with previous years, we targeted those who were intent on supplying illegal substances at the festival – before and during the event. Officers conducted pre-event site searches, the event utilised surrender bins, and there were also extensive search processes carried by security personnel at entrances to the site.
“All of those who were arrested at the festival and are being investigated for drug offences will now have to face the consequences and pay the price for their actions.”
Project Servator deployments were also carried out in the run-up to the event to deter wider criminal activity, while officers maintained a visible presence throughout to reassure festival-goers and minimise disruption to local residents.
