Ysgol Cae’r Nant pupils took part in a Be Internet Legends assembly held by Google in partnership with Parent Zone and Mark Tami, MP for Alyn and Deeside. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Be Internet Legends is an interactive educational programme which helps primary school children across the UK to become safer and more confident explorers of the online world. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The assemblies are part of a wider campaign to offer UK primary school teachers free online safety resources, including a refreshed curriculum pack.  ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Ysgol Cae’r Nant pupils are among more than four million children across the UK who have been helped by the Be Internet Legends programme. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“It was a pleasure to visit Ysgol Cae’r Nant today and speak with the pupils and their teachers about staying safe online,” said Mark Tami. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“The programme teaches children not only how to be safe online, but how to be kind online and how to think critically and choose sensible and safe sources for research and for fun.” ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

There are lots of free resources available for teachers, including a downloadable curriculum with ready-made Google Classroom slides and interactive national assemblies open to all primary schools (parentzone.org.uk/nationalassembly). ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Schools can easily spread activities and lessons across a range of age groups and assess progression – as well as use the interactive lessons to save valuable planning time. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
