Charity champions line up for match-funding campaign supporting children’s hospices
Community champions and corporate supporters are rallying behind a major fundraising event, Quality Moments Matter, which aims to raise £400,000 in just 36 hours to benefit Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices.
Scheduled for 17th and 18th November, the campaign will see all donations doubled through a match-funding pot accumulated by local businesses and partners.
The campaign supports Hope House Tŷ Gobaith’s work with seriously ill children and their families in North and Mid Wales, Cheshire, and Shropshire.
The funds raised will ensure that children receiving hospice care can enjoy enriched experiences and the crucial support they need.
Local groups and businesses, including Barclays Bank, are stepping up as “Champions” of the event, encouraging donations and spreading awareness of the impact these funds will make.
Barclays, a long-time supporter of the cause, made a powerful show of support by displaying its Premier League trophies at Mold Library on 31st October.
The event served as an opportunity for Barclays’ team and local supporters to discuss fundraising strategies for the upcoming campaign.
David Rowe of the Mold Friends of Hope House group spoke about their shared dedication to the cause: “I took part in the campaign as an individual last year, but now we have the Friends group formed, we are tackling it as a team – together we’re stronger.”
Barclays’ Local Specialist, Elin Jones, was also motivated to captain a Champion team after experiencing firsthand the vital care provided by Hope House during a visit to its Oswestry location.
Elin has since inspired her colleagues across branches in Wrexham and Mold to join her in supporting the charity’s mission.
Fundraiser Vanessa Marubbi expressed her appreciation for the extensive support, noting, “Everybody is rallying round to do their bit in the build-up and we feel so blessed to have the support of Barclays, our Friends groups and so many generous local people and businesses.”
Vanessa highlighted the unique impact of the match-funding aspect, explaining that every pound donated will go twice as far to help secure essential services for families.
She invited anyone eager to participate to contact the charity’s fundraising offices or visit the campaign website to sign up.
