A new exhibition showcasing talented University of Chester students’ photography and artwork is now open to the public.

Each year Level 6 (third year) students in BA Photography and BA Fine Art in Art, Design and Innovation stage an Interim Exhibition, which provides each cohort with the opportunity to test out their art and photography projects in the public domain.

People now have the chance to see the students’ hard work in the Fine Art and Photography BA (Hons) programme’s third year interim show, held at CASC in Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces: Chester, Units 14 and 16 in Grosvenor Shopping Centre.

Whilst the exhibition forms part of the students’ assessment, it is public facing and an important opportunity to gauge 0audience reception on a professional practice basis. This provides a forerunner for the Art and Design Degree Show Exhibition in June.

CASC (Contemporary Art Space Chester) is a gallery project initiated in 2008, with a long-established track record of student, staff, and nationally and internationally recognised artists’ and photographers’ exhibitions.

The exhibition has been facilitated and co-ordinated by Programme Leaders for BA Photography Dr Cian Quayle and BA Fine Art Dr Jeremy Turner.

Cian said: “The Interim Exhibition provides an exciting opportunity for the public to see some of the best upcoming art and photography work in the North West.”

The free exhibition is open at CASC on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays until February 1, from 10am-4pm.
