One lane in both directions has reopened on the A55 between Caerwys and Holywell after emergency repairs to crash-damaged barriers.

Traffic Wales said lane one reopened at 00:14 this morning following work to replace barriers damaged in a serious collision on Saturday.

Lane two remains closed in both directions between junction 31 at the A5151 (Caerwys) and junction 32 at the A5026 (Holywell) while repairs continue.

In an update at 7am, Traffic Wales warned: “We are expecting long delays throughout the day due to the following lane closures in the area. Please plan ahead.”

The weekend collision closed the A55 in both directions for several hours, with lane closures remaining in place since to allow for safety repairs.
