A55 clear following earlier Delays near Northop due to a car fire

Traffic has returned to normal.

Earlier report: There are reports of delays on the westbound A55 near Northop due to a car fire.

Flintshire County Councillor Martin White posted a warning to drivers on Twitter just before 2.30pm.

The latest traffic report for the area states:

‘A55 North Wales Expressway Westbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to car fire between J33 A5119 Northop Road (Northop) and J32A A5026 (Pentre Halkyn). Emergency services are now in attendance.

Traffic is beginning the build along the westbound carriageway – more as and when we get it.
