Police charge 15 year old youth following armed robbery in Mancot

Police have charged a local youth with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon after an alleged armed robbery at a shop in Mancot on Wednesday night.

Officers were called to Mancot News and Booze on Ash Lane in Mancot at 8.50pm on Wednesday evening after reports a male wearing a black mask and brandishing a knife had entered the shop.

Police say the masked robber made off with a small amount of cash.

The youth who has not been named was arrested shortly after the incident, he has subsequently been charged and bailed and will appear in youth court on Wednesday 18th May.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information which may assist the investigation to call police on 101 quoting reference U060453.
