TV wildlife cameraman surprises pupils in Buckley

Pupils at Elfed High School in Buckley have enjoyed a week of unforgettable experiences, thanks to two special visitors.
Wildlife photographer and cameraman Hamza Yassin visited the school as a favour to his friend Miss Darlington.
He spoke to pupils about his adventures behind the lens and his passion for nature and wildlife.

Following his talk, pupils joined a practical workshop on photography, learning techniques such as the “rule of thirds” and how to use natural elements to frame images.
Teachers said it was an opportunity for pupils to explore creativity and look at the world from new perspectives.
The school also welcomed local artist Katie Sheen, who has designed a new nurture room to support pupil wellbeing.
Hamza officially opened the space, which will provide a calm and creative environment for learning.

Acting Headteacher Mrs Roberts said: “We are so grateful to both Hamza and Katie for the time, talent and inspiration they have shared with our pupils. Experiences like these are what make our learning community so special.”
The school said the projects reflect Elfed High’s commitment to offering a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom, helping young people to develop creativity, confidence and curiosity about the world.
