Suspected drink driver caught with kids in car after public tip-off

A driver was arrested in Flintshire on Saturday night following reports from concerned members of the public about suspected drink driving.

North Wales Police said they received information suggesting someone was attempting to drive home from a licensed premises with children in the vehicle after drinking.

Officers located the car and stopped it shortly afterwards.

According to a social media post by the North Flintshire policing team, the driver was arrested for failing to provide a breath specimen at the roadside.

Police said the individual also refused to provide a sample while in custody.

In the post, officers wrote: “Concerned members of the public who reported a possible drink driver, suspected to be driving home from a licenced premises with their children on board… Vehicle stopped, driver arrested for failing to provide.”

They added: “Driver didn’t provide in custody either. They’ll be charged shortly after a bed down period.”
