The much-anticipated rematch of last year’s Prizefighter semi-final exploded into life from the first bell, by the middle of round two both men had been on the canvas, Keeler went down twice before the final knockdown punch from Doran in what’s been described as one of the most entertaining couple of rounds of boxing in recent memory.
The first round saw Keeler connect with a huge right hook sending Doran crashing to the floor, the Deeside boxer was back on his feet within a second taking a count of three from referee Ian John-Lewis.
Keeler sensing glory turned to celebrate but it was premature, Doran against the ropes caught Keeler with a short left hook, Doran on the front foot followed up with a barrage of shots and with 30 seconds of the round to go Keeler was on the floor looking shaken and dazed.[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inner_container=”true” no_margin=”true” padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” bg_video=”” class=”” style=””][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/4″][gap size=”1.313em”][/vc_column][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”3/4″][text_output]

The Irishman got to his feet but seconds later it was all over, Doran sensing victory piled in with a combination of punches and a final left hook sent Keeler tumbling backwards, trainer Pascal Collins threw in the towel the referee stepped in to end the fight.
It was a breathtaking performance from Tom, to be fair both fighters gave their all and Luke Keeler deserves plenty of praise for his part in this barnstormer of a rematch.[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inner_container=”true” no_margin=”true” padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” bg_video=”” class=”” style=””][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/1″][x_video_embed id=”” class=”” style=””][/x_video_embed][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inner_container=”true” no_margin=”true” padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” bg_video=”” class=”” style=””][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/6″][gap size=”20px” id=”” class=”” style=””][text_output][/text_output][/vc_column][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”5/6″][text_output]Doran has extended his unbeaten record to 17(7)-0 – picked up the vacant WBC International middleweight belt, and world ranking points.
“I wanted this belt round my waist,” Doran told Sky Sports.
“It’s my first title and means a hell of a lot. The fans deserve to see great fights and if I can get up, I’m getting up.
“It was a cracking round. What can I say? Sometimes I can be susceptible to trading when I shouldn’t but it makes for exciting fights. If I get caught then I can turn it on when I have to.”
