Spotted a Coastguard Rescue Team down by the River Dee this afternoon? Here’s what they were doing

A Coastguard Rescue Team was called out this afternoon following a report that two people were in possible danger near Flintshire Bridge.

The Flint-based volunteer rescuers were scrambled to the lamp rock wall near the bridge just after 1pm today having been alerted by Holyhead Coastguard Operations Centre.

A spokesperson for Flint Coastguard said the team were tasked by UK Coastguard “to reports of 2 persons possibly in danger on the lamp rock wall, near Flintshire Bridge.

On scene persons located safe and well who were in fact local engineers carrying out routine duties, safety advice was issued.

Holyhead CGOC updated and Team stood down with thanks.”
