Search and rescue volunteers called out four times in two days across north east Wales

Volunteers from North East Wales Search and Rescue were called out four times in two days this week, helping the ambulance service reach patients in difficult locations.
The team, known as NEWSAR, said it dealt with two callouts on each of the two days.
All four involved supporting the Welsh Ambulance Service with extracting patients from challenging locations, with the ambulance service providing patient care at each incident.
The first task saw the team support a medical incident and extract a casualty from a steep wooded area, followed by a second extraction from a quarry.
NEWSAR then worked alongside North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service on a rope-system extraction from a gully at a road traffic accident.

The final callout involved helping to reach and extract a casualty with a lower leg injury in difficult terrain.
In a post on social media, the team said: “NEWSAR is a completely voluntary team, and we are proud to support our emergency service partners.”
The team said: “Our team of volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days responding to those in need throughout Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham & parts of Conwy & Powys.”
