Family appeals for return of ‘memory bear’ after car stolen in Shotton overnight

A family is appealing for help to find a memory bear sewn from a late grandfather’s shirts, after it was taken along with a car stolen from a Shotton street in the early hours of Monday morning.
North Wales Police confirmed two vehicles were stolen and a third damaged in the Shotton and Queensferry area overnight on Sunday 7 June 2026.
A Fiat 500 Abarth was taken from Plymouth Street, Shotton, and a Nissan Leaf was stolen from New Park Road, Queensferry.
A second Fiat 500 Abarth was damaged on Caernarvon Close overnight.
The daughter of the Fiat’s owner said on social media that the car, registered LJ19SOA, was rolled silently up Plymouth Street in the early hours with its passenger window smashed.
She said ring doorbell footage had captured the theft and asked anyone with cameras on Plymouth Street, King George Street or surrounding roads to check their recordings.
She said the memory bear, made from her grandfather’s shirts after he died last year, was what upset her mother most.
“This bear is what’s upset my mum the most and has more sentimental value,” she said.
