North Wales Police have issued a warning to motorists in Flintshire following reports of suspicious activity near properties with high-value vehicles.

PC Shannen Finnerty said drivers with keyless entry cars are being urged to take extra precautions. Officers recommend using a Faraday box or pouch to block the signal from car keys, or fitting a steering wheel lock.

“Thieves can boost the signal and open the vehicle. Or in cases where the key is kept nearby just get in and drive off,” PC Finnerty said.

Police confirmed that while no recent keyless thefts have been reported locally, there have been incidents in the past. Dedicated night-time patrols will now be in place.
