Police seize 5000 volt stun gun following reports of a disturbance in Broughton

Police have seized what they describe as “nasty weapons” from a house in Broughton following reports of a disturbance.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the Main Road area of Broughton just after 4am this morning, Wednesday December 12.

Enquiries led police to a house nearby where the weapons were found a 5000 volt stun gun was found and a “police style” baton.

The battery operated stun gun is capable of discharging a large voltage of electricity into a target, rendering them incapable of movement for a short time.

Under the Firearms Act they are illegal to possess.

A spokesperson for South Flintshire police said:

“Upon police arrival in the area enquiries led officers to an address nearby where the items were located.

One was a police style baton and the other was a 5000 volt stun gun.

A 37 year old local male is currently under investigation.”
