Police carry out licensing checks at Mold venues

Police officers carried out checks around licensed premises in Mold on Friday evening as part of a joint operation between North Wales Police and licensing officers.
The increased police presence was noted by local residents, with officers from the South Flintshire policing team and the K9 unit visiting a number of town centre venues.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police South Flintshire said the checks were part of a planned evening operation to ensure compliance at licensed premises.
They said: “Some of you may have noticed an increased presence in and around licensed premises in Mold on Friday evening by officers from Rota 2 and our K9 department. This was to carry out checks in conjunction with colleagues from licensing.
“Aside from one male being found in possession of a small amount of drugs everything else was found to be in order.”
Police confirmed the man was dealt with via an out-of-court disposal, a process used for low-level offences where the offender admits responsibility.
“This allows us to avoid clogging up the court system,” the force added.
