Police hunt for driver who fled the scene of a collision on the A55 near Ewloe

A lane of the A55 westbound between Dobbs Hill and Ewloe was closed earlier today after a collision.

Two people from from the same car were taken to hospital with minor injuries while the driver of the other car fled the scene.

The collision, which happened just before 9.30am involved a black Astra and red Volvo.

It is believed the two injured people were in the Astra, the driver of the Volvo fled from the scene of the crash on foot, police launched a search for him.

A rapid response vehicle and an emergency ambulance a were sent to the collision.

Ambulance service spokesman said:

“We were called at shortly before 9.25am to reports that a car had overturned following a road traffic collision on the A55 westbound near junction 33B at Ewloe.

Two patients have been taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with minor injuries.

All lanes were fully opened at 12pm.
