Flint’s very first Costa Coffee store has officially opened its doors – with local Olympic hero Jade Jones OBE doing the honours at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch.

The new store at Flintshire Retail Park on Holywell Road welcomed customers for the first time today, Thursday 27th March, with the double Olympic taekwondo champion on hand to mark the occasion alongside Costa Coffee staff and local residents.

The opening brings Costa Coffee’s signature Mocha Italia blend, a range of fresh bakes, and a brand new social space to the town, along with eight new jobs.

Jade Jones, who recently announced she was swapping taekwondo for professional boxing, posed for photos and met customers during the store’s first day of trading.

The modern new store has been designed with comfort in mind, offering both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a welcoming spot for people to catch up with friends, relax with a coffee, or grab something to-go.

Kirsty Bliss, Area Manager at Costa Coffee, said: “We are thrilled to open our very first store in Flint. We can’t wait to welcome the community into our brand new space, where they can enjoy our latest Spring menu, tasty fresh bakes and great coffee. The team are excited to become part of the town and look forward to serving the local community.”

Open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 6pm on Sundays, the new Costa adds to the growing mix of businesses at Flintshire Retail Park.

The company says it hopes the store will become a valued hub for locals, with the warm, inviting atmosphere Costa is known for.
