North Wales politician supports Asda Tickled Pink campaign in Queensferry

North Wales MS Mark Isherwood visited Asda Queensferry today (Saturday) to meet staff and learn more about their fundraising efforts in support of Asda Tickled Pink, part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Since it was launched in 1996, Tickled Pink has raised more than £100 million for breast cancer charities. Working with charity partners Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, the campaign helps fund research, education and support for people affected by breast cancer.
In-store fundraising has played a central role in the success of Tickled Pink. Throughout October, colleagues and customers take part in a range of activities including bucket collections, raffles, bake sales, tombolas and themed dress-up days. Some stores also run colleague challenges and competitions to raise funds and awareness.
Mr Isherwood was invited to his local store by Asda on behalf of its North Wales colleagues to hear more about the campaign and show his support for their fundraising work.
Asda suppliers also back the initiative by creating limited-edition pink products, with a donation from each sale going to Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!. These products, on sale throughout October, raise money and promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Speaking after his visit, Mr Isherwood, who earlier this week attended the ‘Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer Now’ event in the Senedd, said:
“It was a real pleasure to meet local staff here at Asda Queensferry and hear about everything they’ve done to support Tickled Pink. It’s fantastic to see how their efforts have contributed to the £100m that has been raised nationally. Tickled Pink is an incredibly important cause, deserving of support from residents across North Wales during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
