North Flintshire officers return stolen tools to tradesperson

Police in North Flintshire have recovered a haul of stolen tools and returned them to their owner thanks to information provided by local residents.
The theft was reported on Thursday morning, but by the time officers received the call, the stolen tools had already been located and secured following earlier enquiries.
North Wales Police said the recovery was made possible through public information and “some good ol’ coppers nose.”
In a post shared by the North Flintshire policing team, officers thanked the community for their help and confirmed that further enquiries are continuing.
A spokesperson for North Flintshire Police said the tools, along with several other recovered items, were returned to their owner soon after the theft was reported.
They added: “Tool theft from vans is far too common, though thankfully not that common on our patch. Thanks to information from the public and some good ol’ coppers nose, the tools pictured below (and more) were recovered yesterday, so this morning when the theft was reported, we could reunite the owner with their much-needed tools.
“Enquiries are continuing, but again thanks to the community we have some lines of enquiry. We wish all of these incidents could end like this, but we know they don’t and that traders are having to work extremely hard to keep their tools safe.”
Officers encouraged residents and tradespeople to continue reporting suspicious activity and to take steps to secure their vehicles and tools.
