Natwest plans to strip Mold high street of all traces of branch after closure

All traces of the Natwest Bank in Mold will be scrubbed from the high street when it closes later this month.
According to plans submitted to Flintshire County Council, the bank will completely clear out the ground floor and basement of the branch, removing the night safe and all internal fixtures.
The application states that any repair works required internally will be made good and that exterior signage will be also be removed.
The street-facing cash machine, which gave customers access to their money on High Street, will also be removed.
The branch is scheduled to close at noon on October 21 as part of a programme of 55 branch closures across the UK.
When Natwest decided to close the Mold branch it served on average 604 customers a month – 374 individual customers and 230 businesses.
Once closed Natwest customers will be able to access banking services via the post office or by travelling to their nearest branch in Wrexham, Chester or Rhyl.
Mold Natwest will close five days after the town loses another of its bank branches when the Halifax shuts its doors for the final time.
There are still a handful of main bank branches in Mold. HSBC, Lloyds Bank and Santander all continue to have in-person branches in the town, while Barclays operates a community banking service at Mold Library three times a week.
Building society the Principality also continues to operate an in-person branch in Mold.
