Multi-agency rescue on River Dee at Queensferry

A major emergency response was launched on the River Dee in Queensferry on Sunday afternoon after a person entered the water.

Police confirmed the incident involved multiple agencies, including North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and their Deeside-based water rescue unit, Coastguard teams, RNLI Flint lifeboat and the Welsh Ambulance Service.

The lifeboat launched from Dock Road in Connah’s Quay shortly after 2.30pm.

At the time of the incident police said the Blue Bridge in Garden City was closed while emergency services worked at the scene.

North Wales Police later confirmed the situation was brought to a safe conclusion and the person rescued is receiving medical care.
