News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

A man has been jailed after threatening a shop worker in Mold, before pushing them and stealing from the store.

Paul Lewis, of Saxon Street, Wrexham, threatened to stab police when they arrived, before going into the entranceway of a nearby salon on High Street, where he smashed a door before being tasered.

The 45-year-old, who was on license at the time of the incident on Tuesday, 11 March, was charged with threatening and abusive behaviour, assault, shoplifting and criminal damage.

Lewis was remanded into custody to appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court yesterday (12 March) where he admitted the offences.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing clothes from another shop in Mold earlier the same day and damaging his electronic monitoring tag.

He was jailed for 16 weeks and issued a 12-month restraining order to protect the shop worker.
