Man dies following early morning crash on A55 near Halkyn

A man has died following a road traffic collision on the A55 near Halkyn during the early hours of Saturday, October 11.
Emergency services received multiple reports, just after 12.45am, of a single-vehicle collision at junction 32 on the eastbound carriageway involving a Ford Ranger pick-up.
Police, paramedics, and fire crews attended the scene, but the male driver was sadly pronounced dead.
Detective Sergeant Katie Davies of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time. They will now be supported by a specially trained Family Liaison Officer.
“Our enquiries are underway, and we are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision and who are yet to speak to us, or anybody who was travelling along the A55 near to the Halkyn area and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.”
The road was closed for several hours to allow officers from the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit to carry out enquiries and reopened at around 8:30am.
