Updated: A55 in Flintshire back open following earlier vehicle fire

Update: The road is back open.
Update: Traffic Wales confirmed at 11.35am the road remains closed.
Earlier report: Traffic on a section of the A55 in Flintshire has come to a standstill due to a vehicle fire.
The incident has taken place between J32A A5026 (Pentre Halkyn) and J33 A5119 Northop Road (Northop)
There are reports of significant delays for drivers in both the east and westbound lanes.

Traffic Wales has also said drivers have been trying to escape the queuing traffic on the Eastbound side by double back up the entry slip road at Pentre Halkyn.
The roads agency tweeted: “Driving the wrong way down the slip road unless instructed otherwise is not only a danger to yourself but to all other road users and this behaviour is unacceptable. Please refrain from doing so. Officers are in attendance.”
A traffic report for the area states:
“Road blocked and queueing traffic due to vehicle fire on A55 North Wales Expressway Eastbound from J32A A5026 (Pentre Halkyn) to J33 A5119 Northop Road (Northop). Delays Westbound as traffic passes the scene.”
