The Jeremy Corbyn #JezWeCan bandwagon rolls onto Deeside this evening.

The veteran ‘lefty’ will receive a warm welcome in what is sure to be a packed Connah’s Quay Labour Club tonight as he speaks to party comrades.

Influential Alyn and Deeside Labour party has thrown its weight behind bookies favourite Corbyn in the leadership battle.

Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami and AM Carl Sargeant have remained tight-lipped on the leadership subject however, twitter timelines offer the greatest clue as to who is backing who in Flintshire.

Corbyn has received by far the most ‘retweets’ from Alyn and Deeside Labour ‘big hitters’.

Not everyone is convinced though, one prominent party member told us he was a little apprehensive about a Corbyn win saying it had the potential to ‘split the party’ offering a glimmer of hope to the likes of UKIP.

Yvette Cooper

Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper heads to Connah’s Quay on Friday 14th August, the bookies have pushed Ms Cooper out to third place behind scouser Andy Burnham in second and clear favourite Corbyn.

Ms Cooper will meet party members for a Q&A between 5pm and 7pm.

Liz Kendall has already been to Connah’s Quay, she addressed an audience in July.

Ballot papers for the leadership election will be sent out to Labour party members on 14 August, the deadline to cast a vote either by post of online is 10 September with the result announced two days later.
