Flintshire County Council opens applications for trainee apprenticeships

Flintshire County Council has opened applications for its 2025 trainee apprenticeship scheme, offering four paid placements starting in September.
The available roles include Builder, Electrician, Joiner, and Business Administration, with a salary of £23,556 and 37 hours per week. Apprentices will work towards nationally recognised Level 2/3 qualifications while gaining hands-on experience.
The Builder, Electrician, and Joiner roles form part of the Housing Assets Service, which manages repairs, maintenance, and investment work on over 7,300 council homes and associated community assets.
Apprentices in these trades will work in both tenanted and empty properties and be supported by team leaders and skilled tradespeople. They will gain practical skills such as measuring, using tools, repairing building structures, electrical installation and rewiring, and joinery tasks including fitting doors, windows, and kitchen units. Health and safety training is included.
The Business Administration placement is based in the Clwyd Pension Fund team, responsible for managing the Local Government Pension Scheme for employers across Flintshire, Denbighshire, and Wrexham. Tasks include data entry, customer service, and general clerical duties.
Applications close at midnight on 10 August 2025. The first stage of interviews is scheduled for the week commencing 18 August, with second stage interviews on 26 and 27 August.
