Emergency services rescue individual from River Dee bridge

A coordinated emergency response led to the successful rescue of a person in distress on a bridge over the River Dee near Shotton.

The incident, which took place on Tuesday, 11 March, prompted the mobilisation of multiple agencies, including the Flint Coastguard Rescue Team, North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and the RNLI West Kirby Lifeboat.

The RNLI West Kirby Lifeboat was dispatched to the scene as the Flint Lifeboat was undergoing maintenance.

The West Kirby crew reported that police and the ambulance service managed to bring the person to safety, allowing them to stand down.
