Deeside Toyota apprentices enhance outdoor space at North Wales Carers Centre

Production and Maintenance Apprentices from Toyota’s Deeside Engine Plant have completed a community volunteering project at the North East Wales Carers Information Service (NEWCIS) in Mold.
The initiative forms part of Toyota’s Apprentice Training Programme, designed to develop apprentices’ project management skills.
The project was funded by the Toyota Charitable Trust, supporting the team’s efforts to make a positive impact locally.
The apprentices focused on improving an outdoor space that was previously unwelcoming, uninspiring, and unsafe in parts.
BEFORE

The area had lacked the warmth and safety needed for the carers and volunteers who use the centre regularly.
Their work transformed the outdoor space into a bright, warm, and welcoming environment, greatly enhancing the charity’s facilities.
This upgrade is expected to provide a more comfortable and inviting setting for everyone who visits the centre.
Claire Sullivan, CEO of NEWCIS, said, “On behalf of NEWCIS, our Trustees and all the Carers and Volunteers who use our new Carers Centre, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your invaluable support and commitment during your time here.”
She added, “Your efforts in organising such an engaging and impactful project has been truly appreciated. The hands-on learning, expert guidance, and the professionalism demonstrated throughout the week has left a lasting impression on all who utilise the building. It was evident that your team is deeply dedicated to nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals and are a credit to your company.”
AFTER

Claire continued, “I don’t doubt that the apprentices learnt a lot individually and from being part of a team. The work they achieved is of an excellent standard and I hope that they enjoyed supporting our charity and that they will take forward values that will guide them throughout their careers. Thank you once again for your collaboration and for investing your time and resources to make your Apprentice Project Week a meaningful and memorable success.”
“Well done to the apprentices and all involved for supporting a local charity and developing valuable skills.”
