A weekend of music, dance and Proms celebration is returning to North Wales this summer, as the UK Proms in the Park tour stops at Plas Newydd House on Anglesey for two nights in June.

The 2025 tour brings together some of the UK’s top orchestral musicians, guest artists and presenters, promising an energetic blend of classical favourites and dance anthems – all in a stunning setting on the banks of the Menai Strait.

The weekend kicks off on Friday 27 June with the Dance Anthems Orchestra, a 30-piece live orchestra performing club classics spanning the past four decades. Headlining the evening is internationally renowned saxophonist Ellie Sax, known for her high-energy performances that fuse classical training with modern dance music. The gates open at 5.30pm, with a live sax and DJ set from Ellie Sax at 6pm before the orchestra takes to the stage at 7.30pm.

On Saturday 28 June, the focus shifts to a more traditional Proms atmosphere, with the UK Proms Orchestra performing well-known pieces from film, TV, and musical theatre before launching into all the flag-waving favourites of the Last Night of the Proms. The evening will be hosted by TV personality and barrister Rob Rinder.

Support comes from “The Siglo Section”, performing Postmodern Jukebox-style tracks from 6pm. The main concert begins at 7.30pm, again with gates opening at 5.30pm.

Both nights will feature dancers, soloists and a refreshed set list on a newly upgraded stage. Audiences can also enjoy food from the award-winning Digbeth Dining Club, along with three bars across the site.

UK Proms Director Peter Metcalfe said: “We wanted to provide people across North Wales a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ experience on their doorstep. Plas Newydd is the perfect venue, and this year with Ellie Sax and host Rob Rinder, it promises to be bigger and better than ever.”

Co-founder and Artistic Director Holly Teague added: “Plas Newydd was such a special concert for us last year, and this year we’ve tweaked and tuned the programmes for both evenings to give you more of everything – more music, more singing, more dancing, more fun.”

The Anglesey dates are part of a wider eight-venue UK tour, which includes stops at Harewood House, Carlisle Castle, Pendennis Castle and The Brocas in Eton.

Tickets for both nights at Plas Newydd are available now at ukproms.com, where full details and other tour dates can also be found.
