Crime prevention project launches in Mold town centre

Mold Town Council is working with North Wales Police to bring the ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ initiative to the town.
As part of the project, residents living within Mold Town Council wards can purchase SmartWater property marking kits for a reduced price of £5.
The kits normally retail for £59.50.

SmartWater is a marking liquid that can be applied to items such as laptops, mobile phones, jewellery, tools and bikes.
Each bottle has a unique chemical code, similar to DNA, which means that any marked property recovered by police can be traced back to its owner once registered.
A drop-in session will be held on Thursday 2 October from 10am to 2pm at Mold Town Council Offices, Unit 10, Daniel Owen Precinct. Residents are asked to bring £5 cash payment on the day.
PCSOs from the ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ team will be on hand to demonstrate how to use the kits, complete registration and provide a free crime prevention pack.
Kits are being offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
