Update:Traffic Wales has confirmed the A55 eastbound between Holywell and Northrop has now reopened.

Earlier report:The A55 eastbound is closed between Holywell and Northop following a collision in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The closure is in place from Junction 32 for Holywell (A5026) to Junction 33 for Northop (A5119 Northop Road).

North Wales Police posted on social media just after 1.30am:
“Road closed. A55 eastbound Junction 31 Caerwys onwards is currently closed due to a road traffic incident. Road expected to be closed for some time. Please find alternative routes.”

A traffic map shows the closure extending from the A55 Junction 32 at Holywell to Junction 33 at Northop.
