Deeside isn’t the first place you think of around these parts for days out, but there could be a lot of untapped potential. The River Dee offers plenty of activities, and there are several parks that could benefit from attracting more footfall.

Social media discounts have worked well for other areas around North Wales and Chester, so Deeside attractions should seek to replicate these to boost their visitor numbers.

The Internet Has Conditioned People to Seek Discounts

In the past, people chose to visit places based on word of mouth and reputation alone. Now, online offers, promotions, and solid marketing usually drive people’s decisions. The internet has conditioned people to look for offers and ways to save money, and this has been led by some of the biggest online industries.

The online casino industry has always been known for its attractive offers. See the Betfair casino promotions, for instance, which include free spins for new players and a shot at a daily jackpot for returning customers.

Ecommerce has also contributed to the mindset that there are always great offers to be found. Most ecommerce stores now offer freebies to new customers, along with discounts if they spend over a certain amount. For example, Athletic Greens has various discounts, with customers able to use codes to get money off their orders.

Offers and promotions aren’t just great marketing tools for online businesses; they also work for real world locations. With people spending more time than ever online, it’s important for tourist attractions to ensure they have an internet presence and to provide discounts to people who discover them online.

How Chester and North Wales Use Social Media Promotions

There are countless attractions in Chester and North Wales that have tapped into the power of the internet to market themselves to a greater number of people. Chester Zoo is an example of this, and the site uses social media pages such as Facebook and Instagram to promote ticket discounts. Users are often encouraged to share these as well, allowing them to achieve extensive reach.

Zip World is known for making use of social media to promote clips of its exciting attractions. Along with these posts, there are usually discount offers for people who act fast. Places like Llandudno Pier and Conwy Castle are also known for similar promotions. Attractions in Deeside should take inspiration from these and consider their own offers.

What Does Deeside Have to Offer?

Although Deeside isn’t often associated with tourism and days out, there are a few activities available around here that could be promoted more. For example, Deeside Leisure Centre has plenty of facilities. It could attract more customers if there were offers available.

Wepre Park is another area that could easily interest more people through clever social media marketing and discounts. There are also canoe tours and boating companies on the River Dee that could be doing more to attract attention.

In today’s age of online offers and promotions, there’s an argument that places in Deeside should be taking advantage of them to boost their numbers. There are a few good attractions here that deserve more attention, and promoting them on social media could achieve that.
