Body of Man found near Hawarden Bridge Railway Station

The body of a man has been discovered next to tracks near Hawarden railway station.

They cause of death is being treated as ‘unexplained’ while enquires are carried out into the man’s identity.

A member of the public made the grim discovery this morning,

Welsh Ambulance Service pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Train’s were badly disrupted and buses replacing services between Shotton and Bidston as Police dealt with the incident.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said:

“BTP officers were called to the line near Hawarden Bridge railway station, Deeside, Clwyd, on Monday, 12 May, following a report from a member of the public of a body next to the tracks.

“The incident was reported to police at 8.43am and is currently being treated as unexplained.

“Officers attended the incident alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Following a search of the area, the body of a man was discovered next to the railway line. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the man and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
