Man airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following collision on A55 near Broughton

Traffic Wales has said the Westbound A55 from junction 36a to junction 36 remains closed and a diversion is in place.

Update from the Welsh Ambulance Service, a spokesperson said: “We were called today, Thursday 04 February at 12.19pm to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision on a slip road of the A55 at Broughton. We attended scene with one rapid response vehicle, two emergency ambulances and the Wales Air Ambulance. We remain on-scene as of 1.40pm”

North Wales Police has said, “A55 Westbound Closed from Junction 35a Broughton to 33b Buckley due to a serious RTC.
Please avoid the area until further notice and use alternative routes. The road will remain closed for some time.”
It’s reported the collision involves a van and lorry.

Earlier report: An Air Ambulance has landed close to the A55 in Broughton following reports of a collision.
Traffic Wales initially said one lane was closed Westbound J38 Posthouse (A483)- J36 Broughton. Lane with “Police and emergency services en route.”
They have since tweeted there is a full closure on the Westbound side.
