North Wales Police warning Flintshire residents to be alert following spate of thefts from cars and vans in Flintshire

Police officers will be conducting patrols in area over the bank holiday weekend after recent reports of valuable items being stolen from vehicle.

Thieves have been targeting residential areas and trying car door handles to look for easy thefts.

To prevent such crimes, North Wales Police has issued some valuable advice to residents.

Firstly, car owners should ensure that their vehicle is locked and their keys are secure and out of reach.

Additionally, vehicle keys should not be left close to the front door, as thieves can use the letterbox to access them.

For van drivers, North Wales Police recommend purchasing a sticker to deter criminals from breaking in. The sticker will indicate that no tools are kept in the van overnight.

Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious activity around homes or vehicles to the police via 101 or online.
