New calendar to raise funds for retired North Wales police dogs

North Wales Police dogs are taking centre stage in a new 2026 charity calendar launched to raise funds for retired police dogs.
The calendar has been created by Paws Off Duty, a charity founded in 2015 by PC Jackie Edwards of North Wales Police.
The organisation helps pay for vet and welfare costs for dogs after they retire from service.
Under current arrangements, police dogs are funded by the force during their working lives, but support ends when they retire, usually between eight and ten years of age.
Handlers or new owners then cover ongoing costs, which can be high for older animals.

The Paws Off Duty 2026 calendar, available from 24 October 2025, features serving and retired dogs from across North Wales Police.
Each month highlights a different dog and the variety of policing work they undertake, from searching for missing people to supporting armed operations.
PC Jackie Edwards said: “Every penny goes towards supporting our retired K9s, who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities. I hope people will show their appreciation by purchasing a calendar, it really does make a difference.
“I’d like to thank PC Conway who has been instrumental in designing the calendar and bringing it to life, she’s done a fantastic job. I’d also like to thank our friends at Farm and Pet Place for their invaluable support. We are extremely grateful for their continued assistance.”
The calendars, priced at £10, are available from Farm and Pet Place stores and online.
All proceeds go directly to Paws Off Duty, helping retired police dogs enjoy the comfortable retirement they deserve after years of public service.
