Transport for Wales is offering free travel for serving members of the Armed Forces and military veterans during this year’s Remembrance period.

The scheme, part of an industry-wide initiative, allows eligible individuals to travel for free on all Transport for Wales rail services and TrawsCymru buses on selected dates in November.

Free rail travel will be available on:

• Friday 7 November 2025 – for travel to and from Cardiff Central Station to attend the Transport for Wales Remembrance Service
• Sunday 9 November 2025 – Remembrance Sunday
• Tuesday 11 November 2025 – Armistice Day

The offer will also apply to all TrawsCymru bus services on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.

Free travel is open to serving Armed Forces personnel in uniform, as well as those not in uniform and veterans who can show valid identification. Accepted forms of ID include a Ministry of Defence MOD90 card, Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, MOD-issued Veterans ID, or proof of pension confirming veteran status.

Transport for Wales said the initiative reflects its commitment to honouring the service and sacrifice of military personnel past and present.

A spokesperson said the organisation is “proud to honour the sacrifices of those who’ve served our country again this year.”
